Respiratory Protection Training
Course Description
This Respiratory Protection program is designed to protect personnel against the inhalation of harmful air contaminants and oxygen deficient atmosphere in the workplace. Employees are instructed in the selection, operation, maintenance, applications, and limitations of respiratory protection equipment. Training is given in proper medical surveillance and fit testing.
Course Compliance Requirements
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 (a) (b) and Rule 36 of the Texas Railroad Commission require respirators to be provided by the company any time that employees are required to perform work activities in an environment that has harmful contaminants, oxygen deficient, or classified as IDLH atmospheres. The employee is required to have yearly medical surveillance, pulmonary function tests, fit-test, and refresher training.
